Have you ever wondered while looking at a civil structure (a building, but also a bridge, a motorway and all structures built by humans) how many people have taken part in its creation? You'll say: a builder. And you'll be right. There would be no building without him. Yet, that was only the person who physically erected the walls. He was not working alone, but under the supervision of a specific person. The person was a CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGER, who has taken care to ensure that construction runs smoothly, in compliance with the regulations and according to a specific design. The design covered many sectors and was developed by many specialist designers.
The first one was an ARCHITECT. He designed the vision of the whole building, the shape, elevation and layout of the rooms. He also made sure that it was aesthetic and integrated into the surroundings. Then, he handed over his design to a CONSTRUCTOR, who designed the foundations, walls and ceilings so that the building would not collapse and would serve safely for many years. Yet, these were still just bare and cold walls. To make living a pleasant experience, a SANITARY ENGINEER designed water and sewage systems, central heating and ventilation systems inside the building. THE SANITARY ENGINEER also designed outdoor networks: a water supply system to ensure that water from the intake and water treatment plant flows into the building; a sewage system to ensure that sewage is removed from the building and a rainwater system to safely remove rainwater from the roof of the building and the development area. Then, as a SANITARY WORKS MANAGER, supervised the completion of the works. Finally, there was an INTERIOR AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. He took care of the arrangement of the interior and the surrounding to make them please the eye. A DESIGN SPECIALIST, in turn, designed the shapes of all objects. Even a bench in front of the house couldn't be just three criss-crossed, non-planed wooden planks.
